HubSpot AI Agent: Keep Your CRM Updated Without Typing Into It

A BetterClaw agent connected to HubSpot does the CRM admin your team keeps putting off. It creates contacts and companies from new enquiries, moves deals when something changes, writes notes and tasks after calls, and tells you which deals have gone quiet. It works across your other tools too, so one agent can read the email in Gmail, update HubSpot and post the alert in Slack. HubSpot's own Breeze agents work inside HubSpot. A BetterClaw agent works across HubSpot and the rest of your stack.

How to set it up

There is no ready-made HubSpot workflow yet. Go to Workflows → New workflow, paste: "Every two hours on weekdays, find new sales enquiries in Gmail. For each, create or update the contact and company in HubSpot, add a deal in the New stage, draft a reply in Gmail for me to send, and post hot leads to #sales in Slack." Select Generate, review the steps, then Use this workflow. The closest ready-made starting point is Lead Qualification, which keeps leads in a Google Sheet.

How to connect HubSpot to an AI agent

  1. 1

In BetterClaw, open Connectors in the left rail and stay on Browse connectors.

Choose Sign in with HubSpot and approve access on HubSpot's screen.

If your HubSpot admin prefers, you can use a private app access token instead (HubSpot ▸ Settings ▸ Integrations ▸ Private Apps).

    HubSpot
  4. 4

Give the account a label you'll recognise later (for example "HubSpot - work").

This matters if you connect more than one account.

    BetterClaw
  5. 5

    Select Connect.

The account is assigned to all your agents automatically, so it works straight away.

  6. 6

To limit it, open the HubSpot connector's detail view.

Each agent has its own row, so you can switch the account on only for the agents that need it.

  7. 7

Connecting a second HubSpot portal (for example a client's)? Add it as another account with its own label, and switch it on only for the agent that serves that client.

What can the agent access in HubSpot? Is it safe?

ReadWriteDestructive

The catalog behind BetterClaw's HubSpot connector lists 281 actions. Read: contacts, companies, deals, tickets, notes, tasks, pipelines, marketing emails. Write: create and update contacts, companies, deals, tickets, notes and tasks, merge records and enrol contacts in workflows. Destructive: archive records and permanently delete contacts or companies for GDPR. Start with a workflow that only creates and updates, and write "never archive or delete records" into the workflow description.

Your credentials are stored encrypted and your agents never see them. You can disconnect an account at any time from Connectors, and remove an agent's access without disconnecting the account.

HubSpot MCP server: do you need it?

HubSpot released its remote MCP server (mcp.hubspot.com) to general availability in April 2026. It reads CRM records, marketing content and activities, and creates or updates CRM records such as contacts, deals and tickets. For most teams the HubSpot connector is the quicker route.

Describe the job and BetterClaw builds the workflow

HubSpot AI agent: common questions

Can an AI agent update HubSpot automatically?

Yes. Once HubSpot is connected, a BetterClaw agent can create and update contacts, companies, deals, tickets, notes and tasks, on a schedule or when you ask it in chat.

How is this different from HubSpot Breeze?

Breeze agents work inside HubSpot. A BetterClaw agent works across HubSpot and your other apps, so it can read Gmail, update HubSpot and post to Slack in one job. You can use both.

Does it need a HubSpot paid plan?

The connector uses HubSpot's standard sign-in and API. What the agent can reach depends on what your HubSpot account includes, for example tickets need Service Hub.

Can I stop it deleting records?

Write the limits into the workflow ("never archive or delete") and review the steps before you publish. A workflow section can also stop and ask a person before it changes anything important.

Can it work with more than one HubSpot portal?

Yes. Connect each portal as its own account with a clear label, and choose which agent uses which.

Connect HubSpot and give your agent its first job.

Sign in once, pick a ready-made workflow or describe your own, and your agent does the rest.
