Google Docs AI Agent: Get the First Draft Written for You

A BetterClaw agent connected to Google Docs writes the first draft so you don't start from a blank page: SEO articles, proposals after a sales call, meeting summaries, repurposed social posts and tailored CVs. Everything lands in a Google Doc for you to edit and share. The agent drafts. You decide what goes out.

Example

Example: Proposal Composer (ready-made workflow)

Runs: You run it after a sales call, with the client's name and your notes.
What lands for you

A proposal draft in Google Docs on the same day as the call.

Proposal Composer (ready-made workflow)
  1. 1Researches the client.
  2. 2Drafts a complete proposal in a Google Doc from your call notes, using only the services and pricing you gave it.
  3. 3Lists the decisions it needs from you separately.
  4. 4Emails you the link. It never sends anything to the client.

How to set it up

Install it from the Proposal Composer workflow page. Other Docs workflows: SEO & AI-Search Article Writer, Daily Content Drafts, Content Repurposing, Meeting Notes and Job Application Tracker.

The account is assigned to all your agents automatically, so it works straight away.

  6. 6

To limit it, open the Google Docs connector's detail view.

Each agent has its own row, so you can switch the account on only for the agents that need it.

What can the agent access in Google Docs? Is it safe?

ReadWriteDestructive

The Docs catalog covers reading documents, creating and editing them (text, tables, images, headers, tabs) and destructive edits such as deleting content ranges or tabs. The ready-made workflows create new documents rather than editing yours.

Your credentials are stored encrypted and your agents never see them. You can disconnect an account at any time from Connectors, and remove an agent's access without disconnecting the account.

How we keep your data safe →

Google Docs MCP server: do you need it?

Google lists an official Docs MCP server in its Workspace Developer Preview, which needs preview access and your own OAuth client. The BetterClaw connector needs only a Google sign-in.

Google Docs AI agent: common questions

Can AI create and edit Google Docs?

Yes. A connected agent can create documents, write and replace text, add tables and images, and export to PDF.

Will it publish anything?

No. The ready-made workflows only draft in Google Docs and email you the link.

Will it make up facts or statistics?

The article and repurposing workflows leave [placeholders] instead of inventing numbers or quotes, and keep existing quotes exactly as written.

Can it match my writing style?

Yes. Several workflows have a "How you write" setting: paste a few of your own posts or a past proposal to follow.

Can it read documents I already have?

Yes. It can search your Docs and read their text, for example to summarise meeting notes or reuse an old proposal as a starting point.

How is this different from Gemini in Docs?

Gemini helps while you're in the document. A BetterClaw agent creates the document for you on a schedule or after an event, using your other tools for context.

Connect Google Docs and give your agent its first job.

Sign in once, pick a ready-made workflow or describe your own, and your agent does the rest.
